Naiara R. Tonin is pursuing a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering & Structural Mechanics at the University of Colorado. Her current research work includes development of new technologies to automate the assessment of properties of concrete from its microstructure. She started her graduate studies in Structural Engineering at the University of Ottawa (Canada), where she worked as a research assistant focused on microstructure of concrete and its application for assessing damage. She also developed postgraduate research in microstructure of concrete as a volunteer at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). Naiara received her B.Sc. in civil engineering from the University of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where she had over 7 years of experience in the heavy construction industry. She is currently a student member of the American Concrete Institute and the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering.
