This paper reports the outstanding work of Tim Segers, Michel Versluisand coworkers of the Physics of Fluids group at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.  I was honored to play a small role on this watershed study, which successfully achieved high-production microfluidic generation of lipid-coated microbubbles.  Surprising results include Ostwald ripening to a programmable stable diameter and modification of the shell elasticity with multiple sonication bursts.
