PES Registration Guide for Incoming First-Year Fall Start Students
PES Registration Guide for Incoming First-Year Fall Start Students
Welcome to CU Boulder and the Program in Exploratory Studies (PES)! We're excited to have you join us this fall. Our team is here to guide you through your transition to college life—helping you understand your degree, transfer any previous credits and create a schedule that works for you.
Getting started
To get started, select an in-person or virtual New Student Orientation date and complete your Online Experience. Remember, you won’t be able to register for classes until the Online Experience is done, so don’t wait!
Here’s what you need to do to get ready for registration this fall:
- Choose whether you want to attend your New Student Orientation in person or online.
- Finish the Online Experience—it’s required before you can register for classes.
- Send your AP/IB scores and official transcripts from any college courses you took during high school directly from the college where the courses were completed (including dual or concurrent enrollment). You may email them to transcripts@colorado.edu or mail them.
- Take any necessary placement tests as soon as possible since they may affect your registration options.
- Participate in the orientation session you selected. During this session, you’ll meet with academic advisors and register for classes. Remember, class registration happens only at your orientation.
- Complete any other steps required for first-year students.
