Program in Exploratory Studies

Born on base in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and raised in Houston, Texas, Israel fell in love with Colorado on his first visit to the Garden of the Gods in the summer of 2015. The view from the Manitou Incline gave him dreams of a life nearby, training jiu-jitsu at elevation, biking scenic trails, cooking with roasted green chiles, learning yoga with a view from on high... it was a long trip back home. Now, Colorado is home! Israel holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Communications and a Master’s in Rhetoric and Composition Pedagogy, both from the University of Houston-Downtown.

As the Assistant Director of Student Success Initiatives in the Program for Exploratory Studies, Israel works to the fortify the positive impacts that academic advisors have been shown to have on their students. He believes in the transformative power of education and well-trained advisors. Spirited collaboration among student support teams is what he sees as a precursor to truly holistic student development and key to helping students navigate their path to success. Israel is pleased to be in a position to help PES advisors prioritize our exploratory students, including special student populations like our international, first-generation, transfer and veteran students.
