Chemistry + Computer Engineering Minor

The Chemistry major focuses on the study of matter, energy and the interaction between them. Students take courses in general, organic, physical and analytical/instrumental chemistry, as well as an introductory general chemistry sequence and ancillary work in calculus and physics.
The computer engineering minor introduces students to the fundamentals of computer engineering while imparting on them the necessary skills and training needed to tackle real world problems with computer engineering solutions.

Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences + Biochemistry Minor

Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences provides students with an in-depth understanding of the physical basis for the role of the atmosphere and oceans in Earth's climate system. The program examines the dynamical, physical and chemical processes that occur in the atmosphere and ocean, and trains students to develop quantitative solutions to real-world problems
The Biochemistry minor allows students to study the building blocks of life (DNA, RNA, Proteins), how they evolved and interact, and how those chemical reactions continue to impact human's lives.

Geology + Environmental Planning Minor

The Geology major provides students with basic knowledge of the Earth—its relationship to the solar system, its origin and developmental history, its structure and composition, its dynamic processes and the role of humans in the Earth system. The geology option emphasizes processes that function both in the solid earth and at Earth's surface.
The Environmental Planning Minor teaches students what it takes to facilitate the decision-making to carry out urban planning, urban design, land development and natural resource conservation with consideration of environmental, social, political and economic factors.

Environmental Studies + Creative Technology & Design Minor

The Environmental Studies major covers topics in the environmental and sustainability fields. Students in the program examine the intersection of science, policy and human values, as applied to environmental issues, across disciplines and acquire the skills and knowledge needed to help solve global, national, regional and local environmental challenges.
The Creative Technology and Design Minor integrates technological skills with a critical, theoretical, and historical understanding of technology, media and design. The program prepares the next generation of artists, designers, and media producers, teaching students to be active and critically aware producers of creative technology

The Physics major provides knowledge of the physical concepts that are basic to the laws of nature, and the ability to use these fundamental concepts to answer questions and solve real problems. Students also gain an understanding of the relationship of physics to other fields such as astronomy, biology, engineering, chemistry and medicine.

The minor in civil engineering exposes students to five sub-disciplines of civil engineering: construction engineering and management, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering and geomechanics, structural engineering and structural mechanics, and water resource engineering and management.

The Biochemistry major studies the intersection of chemistry and biology, allowing students to examine the building blocks of life (DNA, RNA, Proteins), how they evolved and interact, and how those chemical reactions continue to impact human's lives.
The Minor in Signals and Systems provides training in control systems, digital signal processing or communications beyond the training usually received by science, mathematics and applied mathematics majors.

The degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology explores the principles driving ecological and evolutionary processes, including molecular mechanisms, genetics, behavior, population and community dynamics, morphology and systematics. The ecology and evolutionary biology major studies the distribution and abundance of organisms, the interaction between organisms, the interaction between organisms and their environment and the structure and function of ecosystems.
