Dear Addie: I need some new music recommendations as I study for finals
Dear Addie, I need some new music for background noise as I study for finals - any suggestions? - Music Mark
Dear Mark, Best of luck as you embark on your finals study prep! Music is a great tool to keep your mind calm while studying! I happen to be a music connoisseur so you’ve come to the right place.
There are so many ways to access study playlists and music out there. I have a few playlist suggestions for you to check out on a variety of streaming services depending on what you have access to.
Apple Music: With one simple search, you can transport yourself into a world of curated playlists devoted specifically to studying. Try searching ‘Study Beats’, ‘Pure Focus’ or ‘Relaxed / Remixed’ for slow tunes to keep your mind focused. Apple Music even offers a free 90-day trial to new users. After that you can subscribe for a student rate of $5/month for access to all music at all times.
Spotify: If you’re more of a Spotify person, it too has curated playlists for any music lover. ‘Instrumental Study’ happens to be one of my favorites. None of the songs have any words and make the perfect background noise. Spotify is completely free for all users which makes it even more appealing too!
YouTube: Believe it or not, Youtube is also a great place to find study music as well. Simply search for ‘study music’ and thousands of results will appear with hours of music content to consume.
In the words of a song from arguably one of the best Disney musicals of all time, High School Musical, “We’re all in this together”…so don’t let finals get you down. You and your fellow Buffs have got this!
