Things to do when you’re social distancing at home

As we continue social distancing, finding entertaining activities can be difficult. While being at home all the time can become boring fast, there are many fun things to do to spice it up!

  • Connect digitally - There are many different activities you can do from your phone with different apps. Try steering away from your usual go-to social media apps and find platforms that can help you connect with others. You can use websites like Playingcards.io to virtually play card games with your friends.

  • Group chat - If you are just looking to get in touch with friends, many apps allow you to chat in groups virtually, like FaceTime and Google Hangouts.

  • Try a new recipe - Whipping up something new for your taste buds is a great way to stay busy and have fun in the kitchen.

  • Reorganize your room and do a deep clean - Deep cleaning can be a great way to get your mind off of things going on in the world. Go through your closet and set aside any clothes you may want to donate in the future for when donation centers open back up.

  • Read a book - Oftentimes reading gets put on the back burner when our lives are busy. Now is the perfect time to sit back with a good book and read. You could even go outside and lay in the sun while reading.

  • Draw doodles - There are tons of YouTube videos and resources to teach you how to draw. Pick your favorite topic and see how it goes.

  • Practice stretching and meditation - Daily stretching and meditation is a great way to get your body moving and to become more focused.

  • Make your own card game or board game - Try coming up with your own game to play at home with your family. If you can’t think of one, start by combining two of your favorite games and see what you come up with!

  • Painting - There are countless painting ideas you can try. Consider following a Bob Ross painting tutorial, painting a flower pot or having a virtual painting party with friends.

Try some of these activities to stay entertained at home. There are countless activities to do, sometimes it just takes a little creativity.
