Whether you are interested in building up your resume or just looking for fun, volunteering is an excellent way to meet people, learn new things and experience life from a different perspective.

Check out these upcoming volunteer educational trainings

SKOServe | Thursday, February 27 from 3:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. in UMC 247

SKOServe is a series of mini educational trainings that explore various topics related to volunteering and social and environmental justice issues. Thursday’s program will explore “Ethical Photography” when doing service. Students will have the opportunity to engage in some crucial thinking about the service pictures we typically see shared on social media and will have an opportunity to learn tips and takeaways for how to take pictures that better reflect service in the future.

If you can’t make this upcoming session, be sure to check out the VRC’s upcoming programs about Voluntourism on March 18 and Natural Disaster Response on April 16.

Learn about Alternative Break trips

If you are looking for a more immersive type of volunteer opportunity, you’ll want to check out CU’s Alternative Break trips. Alternative Breaks are student led service trips that send groups of students to other communities to engage in service projects during each college break. These trips provide the opportunity to be part of a solution to a problem you otherwise would have no way of impacting.
