Dear Addie: I need more time in the day!
Dear Addie: how do I manage a job, classes and relationships? I’m exhausted! - Wiped out Will
Hi Will: There are definitely not enough hours in the day, and I think that is something most people would agree on. Is it just me or do you also desire the superpower of stopping time for the sake of napping? The busy combination of your educational career, work experience and personal life can be very exhausting. The way you manage these tasks, will ultimately be what allows you to get the rest, relaxation and self-care you need in the midst of the chaos.
Even through paper planners might be old school, they sure do come in handy when it's time to get your ducks in a row. If one of these bad boys is just too bulky for your backpack, try the calendar app on your phone or laptop. By adding classes, study time, work time and social time to your calendar, you will be able to get a full picture of what your days look like and where you can fit life in. Leaving a couple hours in the evening on a Wednesday for relaxation, Netflix and going to bed at a reasonable time or inviting your bae to join you for some sunrise yoga, a trip to the movie theater or a nice brunch at home, can be surprisingly gratifying and will hopefully ease some of the exhaustion.
College is a very busy time. If you feel like you are in the weeds with no way out, take a deep breath, count to 10 and get yourself a daily planner.
