Tips from a junior: Where to watch the Super Bowl

It’s that time of the year where we share our favorite snacks, put on our best game day faces and all come together to watch the Super Bowl! Below are some favorite local spots where you can watch the game!

Residence halls

Some residence hall communities will host Super Bowl watch parties, with free food. Check with your RA to see what your residence hall has planned!

Local places in Boulder

Between The Hill and downtown Boulder, the choices are endless of where to go and watch the game! Places include:

  • The Tune Up. Come by The Tune Up cafe on Pearl Street and kick off your Super Bowl celebration!
  • Illegal Pete's. The food is so darn good...it really should be illegal! This Mexican restaurant has fun, unique events such as live fantasy football drafts, World Cup watch parties and more! It is an energetic environment where anyone can hang out.
  • The Dark Horse. The World Famous Dark Horse has been a Boulder landmark since 1975! Experience this unique spot while watching the Super Bowl on one of the 23 HD TVs, the 10-foot HD projection TV or on the 7-foot HD projector upstairs!
  • West End Tavern. Head to Pearl Street, grab a burger and watch the big game at the West End Tavern! This American tavern has been a Boulder tradition for decades!

Host your own party

Invite some friends or floor mates over to watch the game at your place! Here are some tips to host a memorable get-together for the Super Bowl.

  • Make a dip - Bring your favorite dip to the table! Whether it is a cheese dip, fiesta dip, artichoke dip, spinach dip, etc. - dips are a must-have for the Super Bowl.
  • Decorate - Find some fun party decorations from your local craft store (Michaels, Party City, Target) and get into the football spirit!
  • Have fun with it - Don’t feel pressure to put on a huge event. Take a deep breath and relax. Now, it’s time to sit back, eat some good food and enjoy an exciting game with your friends!

Have a happy Super Bowl!
