Dear Addie: Stressed at the start of a semester
"Dear Addie: I'm stressed about the start of the semester and not having a major yet, what should I do?" - Stressed Skyler
Dear Skyler: The beginning of a new semester has been known to cause some mental anguish here and there and I guarantee you are not alone. Picking a major can feel like a really big deal, but you shouldn't let this seemingly life altering decision bring you down. Take a few minutes to stop by CASE and chat with your advisor, there may be options you never even thought of! And in case they don't tell you, you are swimming in a sea of CU students who are also trying to figure out what to major in and what to do with the rest of their lives.
Are you feeling nervous about classes or finding your place at CU? Sign up for academic coaching or join a student club or group!
Just remember, you are number one, so you take care of you! Keep in mind, there are some amazing Health & Wellness services on campus. The nap pods over at Wardenburg are my favorite... treat yo self!
Dear Addie is written by Addie H., a CU alum. She was admitted to CU as an open option student and as she got involved on campus, she quickly found her path as a writer and expert advice giver. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dog Odin, watching all the medical drama TV shows that exist and going on trips to Target.
