I’m a double major in Physics and English Literature. I will be graduating summa cum laude at the end of this semester, in just a couple weeks. The best opportunities I’ve had (can I pick two) have been my time working in an optical physics lab, and working as a Learning Assistant for both the Physics and English departments. Moving classes online, I’ve really missed getting to spend time with my peers and teachers, but I figure that since I’ve been able to learn to teach over zoom, when I get the chance to teach in person I’ll be that much better at it. The BBC Scholarship has given me the security to take the time I needed in college to find exactly the right path for me. I started college with plans to go to grad school for physics, but thanks to the generosity of the BBC, I didn’t have to marry myself to that plan. Instead, I’ve realized a love for both studying and teaching literature, and I plan to pursue an MA in Literature next year.
