Student Edition - October 8, 2019

Mid-semester blues? You're not alone. Don't forget to take some time for yourself to reflect and most importantly breathe. 

ENVD would like to introduce you to Alexis Harper, an academic coach in the Center for Advising and Student Achievement. Harper came to CU from the University of Washington where she graduated with a degree in Oceanography. She is now pursuing a Masters of the Environment degree with a concentration in community engagement.

The deadline to apply for a winter degree conferral is November 30, 2019. The deadline to apply for spring and summer graduation is April 1, 2019.

Winter and summer graduates are encouraged to walk in the University’s spring commencement ceremony and participate in the environmental design recognition ceremony and reception.

For your convenience, the Center for Advising and Student Achievement has created a simple checklist to follow as you begin your journey to graduation.

ENVD peer advising will be working with Academic Coach Alexis Harper. Peer advisors are trained to help with exam prep, navigating time management, preparing for midterms vs studio projects, and other academic-specific skills. 

Peer advisors are available 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. M-F 
Check-in at the front office.

ENVD will be co-hosting a graduate school fair with ENVS and GEOG. The event is open to all majors. MIT Media Lab Professor Hiroshi Ishii presents his vision-driven design research, “from Tangible Bits towards Radical Atoms,” which aims to seamlessly couple the dual worlds of bits and atoms by giving dynamic physical form to digital information and computation.
