Graduation Checklist

We have created a simple checklist to follow as you begin your journey to graduation.

Confirm degree audit with your upper-division advisor; schedule an appointment through Buff Portal Advising
Apply for graduation:
- Log in to Buff Portal. On the Academics / Schedule tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Apply for Graduation. Visit the Registrar's website for instructions on how to change your existing application, change your graduation term or update your diploma name or address.
Create a profile on the ForeverBuffs Network, and join the Environmental Design group.
Complete the ENVD graduate exit survey.

Winter 2023 Grads

There's still time to apply to graduate this winter.

The deadline to apply for winter graduation is Thursday, December 14, 2023. Winter graduates are invited to walk in the University’s Commencement Ceremony and participate in the ENVD Recognition Ceremony in the spring. Both ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Keep an eye on your email during the spring for a special invitation to the spring 2024 ceremonies.

Grad packet pickup, winter grad recognition at ENVD Open House

As a reminder, ENVD does not hold graduation ceremonies during the winter. However, we would still like to recognize you at the ENVD Open House on Friday, December 15. Pick up your diploma cover, distinction medals** and a special recognition gift for the Open House from the ENVD front office Monday, December 11–Thursday, December 14, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Friday, December 15, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

**What are distinction medals?
Distinction medals are given out to graduates who earned a GPA of 3.5 or above the semester prior to graduating. Individuals with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.749 earn Distinction and receive a navy medal. Individuals with a GPA of 3.75 and above earn High Distinction and receive a burgundy medal.

The graduation application is now open for spring 2024. Apply now to ensure that you receive ceremony emails and that your name will be in the campus and ENVD graduation programs.

Summer 2024 Grads

It’s never too early to start talking about graduation with your advisor. Schedule an appointment with your advisor through Buff Portal Advising.

If you plan on graduating in summer 2024, and would like to participate in the May 2024 Campus Commencement and ENVD Recognition Ceremony, be sure to apply now to ensure that you receive ceremony info through your email and your name will be in the campus and ENVD graduation programs.

Spring Ceremonies

The CU Boulder Campus Commencement is on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. MDT. The university commencement ceremony will be held in-person at Folsom Field Stadium. For more details on campus commencement, visit the Campus Commencement site.

The Program in Environmental Design recognition ceremony will be held Thursday, May 9 at 5 p.m. in the CU Recreation Center Upper Gym. A short reception will follow the ceremony in the same location. Visit the ENVD Graduation Application & Resources page for more info.
