10 Ways to Enhance Your Experience at Environmental Design
1. ENVD First-Year Experience
The ENVD first-year experience is designed for incoming first year and transfer students to bridge experiences in the classroom to opportunities for further intellectual, social and cultural enhancement as a design student and community member of the CU Boulder campus.
2. Center for Advising & Student Achievement

Academic advising is an essential part of your undergraduate experience. At the ENVD Center for Advising and Student Achievement, professional staff advisors, an academic coach and student mentors are available to assist you on your academic journey at CU Boulder. Learn more.
3. Student Clubs & Organizations
Get involved in any of our Environmental Design student clubs and organizations. Whether you are interested in architecture, landscape architecture, planning or just want to represent environmental design there is a group for you.
Get Involved!
The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is a national, non-profit organization made up of over 100 chapters across the country. Our CU Boulder chapter provides students with opportunities to get involved with the Boulder/Denver architecture community.
Affiliated with the American Planning Association, the national professional group for planners brings together students with an interest in planning issues and education.
Environmental Design Student Government is a branch of the Campus Student Government (CUSG) that works as a liaison between students, faculty and administration.
Environmental Design Diverse Scholars (EDDS) is an academic scholarship program for first-generation and underrepresented students in the Program in Environmental Design.
The CU IDSA Student Chapter (previously EPOD Club) is a student-led organization that focuses on building community and highlighting what it means to be a product designer.
American Society of Landscape Architects Student Chapter (ASLA) is a student-led organization that brings students together through organized activities that enhance the understanding of landscape architecture and related disciplines.
ENVD ambassadors are students that serve as liaisons between prospective students, parents and the university, as well as promote the Program in Environmental Design.
4. Creative Labs
We offer facilities and resources such as the Creative Labs Center and the Digital Media Center where you can learn how to use a laser cutter, CNC router, 3D printers and VR simulators, as well as gain access to DSLR cameras and laptop checkouts.
5. Community Design-Build Projects
Turn your ideas into reality in our design-build studios. Choose from a variety of studio options that work with real-world clients like, Denver Botanic Gardens, LAMA Foundation, the City of Boulder, Meow Wolf and more!
7. ENVD Honors Program

Start your path to ENVD honors with our Research Colloquium Series, which features faculty from our program, their research and the journey that took them from freshmen in college to where they are today. Learn more about ENVD Honors.
