Yozaima Escobar is an Academic Advisor in the School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder. She earned her BS In Sociology from the University of California, Riverside, where her interests in educational equity and storytelling began to take shape. She is currently pursuing an MA in Journalism at CU Boulder, with a focus on the intersection of culture and public policy. She brings a student-centered approach shaped by her previous experience in the Admissions, where she supported students in navigating the path to higher education. Driven by a commitment to access and representation, she strives to help students find their voice, both inside and outside the classroom.
She's always on the lookout for a good story whether it's in the classroom, the community, or during a great conversation with a student. She believes that listening closely and asking thoughtful questions can lead to powerful insights, and she brings the same curiosity and care to her work as an advisor.
