As a community of educators, researchers, staff and students, we affirm our support and love for our transgender and gender nonbinary students, friends, colleagues, and family members. Here are a few ways that you can join us in fighting against trans erasure by increasing support and visibility of trans people in particular.
The American Physical Society, a "leading voice in physics,” will honor CU Boulder scientists and educators as part of its spring 2019 awards. The Excellence in Physics Education Award will recognize an interdisciplinary CU Boulder team for their work with the Colorado Learning Assistant Program and the Learning Assistance Alliance, an international initiative based in the School of Education. Two national organizations have awarded a grant that will deepen and advance our partnership between Denver Public Schools, CU Boulder, CU Denver and Rowan University. Professor Ben Kirshner is one of the Principal Investigators on the project that received a $1.4 million grant from the Hewlett Foundation and Jobs for the Future to expand the Student Voice and Leadership Program.

At the International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS) held at the London Festival of Learning in London from June 23-27, the International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS) will appoint CU Boulder School of Education Professor and Associate Dean for Research Joseph Polman as president.
