Lex Hunter is from Flossmoor, IL—a town about thirty minutes south of Chicago. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with her undergraduate degree in Secondary Language Arts Education in May 2021.

Her research focuses on how Black youth use tech and social media as a form of transformational resistance and the impact it has on their mental health.
