Helen McCreery and Lauren Shoemaker.

Helen McCreery (Breed lab) and Lauren Shoemaker (Melbourne/Clauset labs) were both recipients of the 2016 James S McDonnell Foundation postdoctoral fellowship awards in complex systems. These prestigious awards will provide 2-3 years of support. Only around 16 are given out annually to an international pool of applicants, and this year, EBIO received two of them!  Helen McCreery's proposal was entitled "Collective intelligence through emergent strategy: How do simple groups tackle complex tasks?"  Lauren Shoemaker's project is entitled "Maintenance of ecological biodiversity across spatial and temporal scales and under anthropogenic modification."

Congratulations Helen and Lauren!
