CWA Keynotes

Aly Raisman, Tony Seba and Amanda Gorman will appear at the 2018 Conference on World Affairs

Olympic gold medalist and author Aly Raisman, co-founder of RethinkX Tony Seba, and MSNBC nuclear security analyst Joe Cirincione will visit the University of Colorado Boulder during the 70th Conference on World Affairs April 9-13, 2018.
 

As CWA celebrates 70 years of conversation, conference organizers are pleased to add a diverse lineup of keynote speakers and major addresses to the larger CWA week speaker lineup announced last month.

Keynotes, major addresses and student keynote schedule:

  • Tony Seba, co-founder of RethinkX, award-winning author, thought leader and entrepreneur
    CWA Opening Keynote Address: Rethinking the Future: Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation
    11:30 a.m. Monday, April 9
  • Joe Cirincione, president, Ploughshares Fund & MSNBC nuclear security analyst
    Susi Snyder, nuclear disarmament program manager for PAX in the Netherlands
    International Nuclear Disarmament
    9 a.m. Wednesday, April 11
  • Aly Raisman, U.S. Olympian and author
    CWA Student Keynote Address: Aly Raisman
    Presented by CU Boulder Cultural Events Board and CWA Student Committee
    7 p.m. Thursday, April 12
    (This is a student event, open only to faculty, staff and students. Student tickets will go on sale April 3rd in the UMC)
  • Amanda Gorman, Inaugural youth poet laureate of the United States
    Poetry Performance: The Power of the Words of Women
    11 a.m. Friday, April 13

Conference on World Affairs is open to all without charge.

Students and community members comprise the volunteer program committee that selected each of the speakers and performers.
