Venessa's home garden in full bloom. With the promise of warmer weather in the upcoming months, I recently spent time planting seeds and bulbs in my home garden. I look forward to a fruitful season filled with flowers, herbs and veggies. Similarly, now is the perfect time for you and your department to “plant the seeds” in the general ledger to prepare for the next fiscal year.

Fiscal Year-End Budget Preparations

Preparations for fiscal year-end and FY23 budgeting have begun. Please note that June 10 is the final day that FY22 continuing budget can be moved within the same budget account code and campus division. After June 10, no additional FY22 continuing budget journals may be created. Budget journals on the temporary ledger will be approved until June close. For non-budget-related fiscal year-end questions, CCO is a fantastic resource.

Using Budgeting as a Tool to Reflect Your Unit’s Plans

If you manage budgets within your unit, now is a good time to begin to assess if FY23 continuing budget is allocated to the most appropriate budget account codes that are in alignment with your unit's fiscal plans. We are happy to assist you with this or to meet with you for a budgetary consultation. Please contact us using our online form.
