Dani Soibelman is a PhD Candidate in Organizational Communication. Dani's work revolves around critical organizational communication, trans/queer of color critique, and embodiment. Their dissertation locates the specificities of authoritarianism in the settler United States—specifically within Texas's policy ecosystem. Dani has published in Argumentation and Advocacy, QED: A Journal for GLBTQ Worldmaking, and Management Communication Quarterly, with accepted works to come in Feminist Pedagogy and the book Teaching Research Methods in Communication. Professionally and personally, Dani is invested in cultivating solidarity across communities, situating the Communication discipline as a toolkit for enacting justice.
In addition to teaching and learning at CU, Dani is a professional theatre artist. Their most recent work was in Xanadu and The Fantasticks at Creede Repertory Theatre in Southern Colorado. They have also consulted as an intimacy practitioner—a production-level consent advocate who choreographs staged physical contact—on CU Boulder theatre productions.
