Harikrishnan Bhaskaran has more than a decade of experience in teaching journalism at the master’s level and training newsroom professionals in India, and he brings a practitioner-scholar perspective to his doctoral research at CU Boulder. He is currently on leave from his position as an Assistant Professor at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, India.  

His research explores the intersections of emerging journalistic practices, media literacy, misinformation, and journalism education in the Global South. Hari has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and serves on the editorial boards of two international journals: Convergence (published by SAGE) and Media Practice and Education (published by Taylor & Francis). He has also led newsroom workshops across India, focusing on fact-checking and data journalism as part of the Google News Initiative India Training Network.
