Casey Fiesler

Associate Professor Casey Fiesler researches and teaches in the areas of technology ethics and policy, particularly for artificial intelligence and the internet, as well as online communities and computing education.

With a background spanning psychology, computer science, and law, Fiesler is especially interested in making complex questions around technology more accessible to public audiences. She is an award-winning researcher and educator whose work has been covered everywhere from The New York Times to Teen Vogue (though she’s particularly proud of her TikToks).

Fiesler is also a Fellow in the Silicon Flatirons Institute for Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship at the CU Law School, and has a courtesy appointment in Computer Science. She holds a PhD in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Tech and a a JD from Vanderbilt Law School.
