Abe Handler

Abe Handler is an Assistant Professor with the Leeds School of Business. He earned a PhD in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where his dissertation focused on developing new natural language processing methods for novel user interfaces. Chapters from his dissertation have appeared at top venues in natural language processing (NLP) and human-computer interaction (HCI), such as EMNLP and ACM TiiS. 

Before graduate school, Abe worked as a software developer and data journalist, where he lead development of digital tools designed to help citizens make use of public records. He was raised in Denver, and began his academic career as an instructor with the Department of Information Science.
