Anat Leshnick is a PhD student in Media Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received a MA in communication from the University of Haifa, Israel in 2017. Anat’s study employed a discourse analysis in order to examine deletion discussion pages on the Hebrew Wikipedia, exploring ways in which definitions of “worthy” and “unworthy” encyclopedic knowledge are negotiated in contemporary discourse. Anat has presented her work in international conferences and won top paper at the Intercultural Communication Division 68th Annual International Communication Association Conference (ICA). Following these larger themes, Anat is currently interested in exploring the construction of boundaries within discursive online communities and specifically in context of visual culture.
