Dipto Das is a PhD student in the Department of Information Science working with Professor Bryan Semaan. He is interested in human-computer interaction and social computing. His research seeks to understand how people of colonially marginalized communities use online spaces to decolonize their identities and how we can design decolonial platforms. Dipto earned an MS in Computer Science from Missouri State University and a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He had attended the first two years of his doctoral studies at the School of Information Studies, Syracuse University before he moved to the University of Colorado Boulder with his advisor. Outside of research, Dipto enjoys cooking, playing board games, hiking, hanging out with his friends, and listening to music.
