Kate Friedel

Kate Friedel is a PhD student in the department of Advertising, Public Relations, and Media Design in CMCI. Prior to moving to Colorado, she worked in advertising and IMC for local agencies in Memphis, Tennessee for close to eight years. There she served various roles working on nationwide and global brands. 

She received her MA in Journalism and Strategic Media from the University of Memphis. Upon graduating, she was able to serve as an adjunct Public Relations instructor in her free time. Prior to that she earned her BA in English Literature with a minor in History from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. 

Now that she is a student at CU, her primary research is focused within health communication. Most recently, she is studying alternative interventions for mental health communication from an ethics of care perspective.
