Cody Walizer holds a PhD from the University of Denver ('23), where his research focused on public controversy, the rhetoric of social movement, and the philosophy of communication. He analyzes the meaning of games and sports through a decolonial lens, often examining controversies or iconic figures as culturally constitutive texts.
Dr. Walizer is an assistant teaching professor of rhetoric and technology in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Boulder. He teaches classes on public speaking, argumentation, rhetorical criticism, and sports. His pedagogical approach emphasizes community building and opportunities for creativity. Cody utilizes educational games and interactive presentations in order to demonstrate that learning is most effective when it is fun.
