"A long snowy hike in a blizzard up to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park ended in a tranquil frozen alpine lake tucked into the base of a mountain. Frozen in the lake is a not so special broken piece of tree which made a perfect subject for an image to capture the simple yet complex beauty of the misty mountains surrounding me.
