"Some of my favorite music is sung in Portuguese, and although I do not speak the language, music is universal, and it is easy to discern the emotional content of their words without understanding them in a literal sense. Similarly, I hope to create art that speaks a language that can be understood by all, utilizing visual storytelling techniques that I have gained through my time in CMCI. This illustration is called "Portrait of Dave Tongs". Dave Tongs is a friend of mine here at CU, and this is a portrait that I did of him in his flamboyant Spanish Towers apartment, which is sort of his natural habitat. It is done with a Wacom tablet using Painter Essentials. The original digital illustration is 20 x 20 inches.
