July 12-17, 2020 on CU Boulder campus,
located 30 minutes from Denver

  • Do you love stories in their many forms—journalism, film, creative writing, speech and debate, spoken word, gaming, computing, and media of all kinds?
  • Do you want to explore creative ways to tell your story, such as digital storytelling, podcasting, data visualizations, writing and other forms of media?
  • Do you think about real-world problems and want to take action?
  • Are you considering college but wonder what you’d do there, or how you’d fit in? Or if you know you’re college bound, do you want more information to make the right choice?

If any of these apply to you—or if you just want an engaging summer experience that boosts your skills and confidence for the future—then this program may be for you!

During the week on campus, students will boost academic and life skills, experiment with various modes of storytelling—digital storytelling, podcasting, creative writing and more—and produce collaborative hands-on group projects to share at the closing event.

Applications will be accepted Jan. 1- April 17, 2020.

Connections: CMCI Summer Academy is especially well suited for historically underserved sophomore and junior high school students with an interest in media, communication and information.
