July 11-16, 2021

CU Boulder campus is located 30 minutes from Denver.

  • Do you love stories in their many forms—journalism, film, creative writing, speech and debate, spoken word, gaming, computing and media of all kinds?
  • Do you want to explore creative ways to tell your story, such as digital storytelling, podcasting, data visualizations, writing and other forms of media?
  • Do you think about real-world problems and want to take action?
  • Are you considering college but wonder what you’d do there, or how you’d fit in? Or if you know you’re college-bound, do you want more information to make the right choice?

If any of these apply to you—or if you just want an engaging summer experience that boosts your skills and confidence for the future—then this program may be for you!

We invite you to join us for a taste of college life. You’ll be able to sample courses from CMCI professors and experiment with various modes of storytelling—documentary film, podcasting, visual storytelling, creative writing, and more. Don’t miss this opportunity to make lasting connections with peers, CU Boulder staff and faculty, and boost your academic skills.

Applications will be accepted from now through June 1, 2021.

Connections: CMCI Summer Academy is especially well suited for historically underserved sophomore and junior high school students with an interest in media, communication and information.
