Jason Shoemaker

  • Media & Projection Systems Coordinator
Jason’s love of film began when he was a kid and this love continued to grow as he watched as many movies as he could get his hands on. He started his college career by obtaining an Associates of Arts in Radio/TV Broadcasting and is currently working to achieve a Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Cinema Studies here at CU Boulder. He is always willing to discuss the brilliance of film. His current favorite films are Singapore Sling by Nikos Nkolaidis and La Note Bleue by Andrzej Żuławski. His favorites are constantly changing but these two will always sit near the top of his list.

Within the department, Jason oversees the student projectionists and ensures all the classroom projection equipment is functioning correctly. He is also responsible for obtaining the media that is shown in the cinema classes.

Jason is the curator of the IFS Underground series that offers secret, free late-night showings of cult films. If you’re into the weird, this is the series for you! Shows happen on various Fridays throughout the semester in VAC 1B20.

In his free time, he enjoys listening to heavy metal, playing Magic the Gathering with his friends, and playing video games with his wife.
