Faculty

Faculty & The SPIKE Center

At CU Boulder, faculty—working within their departments, programs, schools and colleges—define and deliver the curriculum, in accordance with the university-wide curricular framework and processes established by Academic Affairs.

The SPIKE Center supports faculty in developing curriculum around sustainability and also provides faculty with training and resources to strengthen sustainability education across campus. These efforts are delivered through a series of faculty-focused programs, that are explained further below. Also see this overview of faculty opportunities.

Faculty Programs

Faculty Fellows

Faculty Fellows are a competitively selected group of faculty selected to consider a sustainability theme and lead a faculty training.

The first cohort is focused on the theme of environmental and climate justice. This theme was chosen as a result of: a) faculty demand for discussions on the relationship between environmental and climate justice and this new sustainability focus; and b) the volatile changing political landscape related to this topic.

Curriculum Ambassadors

SPIKE Curriculum Ambassadors (SCAs) are the frontline representatives for sustainability education development, integration and enhancement in their respective colleges and schools. SCAs work closely with fellow ambassadors and SPIKE Center leadership while maintaining close collaboration with related organizations such as BFA and school/college leadership.
