Graduate Curriculum Options

Students at the University of Colorado Boulder have several options to fit their needs and interests in studying Global Engineering.

If so, enroll in a Professional Master of Science in Global Engineering (Civil MS) or Global Environmental Engineering (Environmental MS). These programs will challenge you to expand your way of thinking about international development and engineers' role in global poverty reduction. Taking a holistic, interdisciplinary approach, you will learn to view engineering challenges as opportunities to help create a more sustainable, equitable world. Application directions are provided on the Professional Master's page.

Prospective graduate students interested in completing a traditional research-based MS or PhD program within Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering along with a Graduate Certificate in Global Engineering should apply to the approriate group the admissions application and must clearly note their interest in completing the graduate certificate coursework within their statement of purpose. Application directions are provided on the Research-Based MS or PhD page.

Current graduate students in any department within the College of Engineering and Applied Science can earn a Graduate Certificate in Global Engineering. To apply, students need to complete an Mortenson Center Graduate Certificate Application/Enrollment Form, obtain the signature of their faculty advisor, and submit the form to Sarah Goodroad (sarah.goodroad AT colorado.edu).  Note that the faculty advisor in the student's home department will determine which, if any, of the certificate courses will count towards the student's degree requirements.
