Aerospace Engineering
English (5), Serbian(5), German(4)
I was born in Serbia and lived there until I was 13 years old, while I lived there I had the ability to travel all around Europe. I've traveled to many countries like Greece, Romania, Austria, Slovenia and many others, because of this I was able to surround myself with all different kinds of cultures and languages. While I lived in Serbia, I was learning two new languages at the same time including English and German, this allowed me to incorporate language learning into my education and I continued it all throughout high school.
I've shared a room with my sister for most of my life and this has taught me to be very flexible when it comes to living situations and because of this I am very flexible with who I live with or around. However, the person I would want to live down the hall from me is someone who is optimistic and willing to explore and try new things. Also someone who is considerate of others and enjoys learning about different languages and cultures. Because I am foreign, it is very important to me to surround myself with people who appreciate and want to learn about other cultures and about life and experiences in other countries. the person I would want to live close to me would also be good hearted and supportive, because everyone needs support, especially while going through difficult classes and subjects.
I want to be a part of the Global Engineering RAP because I believe it will make CU Boulder feel more welcoming and will allow me to feel more included and supported. After college I plan on traveling the world or even moving out of the United States and this program will let me immerse both learning a language and furthering my education as an engineering. I believe this residential program will help me thrive the most as a buff and later in life as well. I plan on contributing to the residential community by being an active member in the community and doing my best to encourage those around me to continue learning different languages even when it is not required because of how valuable it is and will be later in life. I believe being a member of the Global Engineering RAP will be a very valuable experience for me throughout my college career.
