I have traveled a lot in my childhood and have gotten the opportunity to experience many different cultures. I have lived in Nigeria for 1 year, the Netherlands for 6 years, India for 1 year, and now the USA. I have visited about 10 different countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia. I was able to taste the food, interact with locals, and learn about their lives. I understand the struggles that many people go through around the world and this has prepared me for the goal of the Global Engineering program. I want to help address the injustices people face because I am passionate about it especially environmental issues.
I would like to live down the hall from someone who has both similar and different perspectives from me. I would like that person to be hardworking, kind, and organized so that we can easily work together and have a great time. I would also like that person to have different experiences than me so that I can learn from them and see new perspectives. For example, someone who has completed a study abroad program or who has visited other countries.
I want to be a member of the Global Engineering RAP at CU Boulder because I believe that I can make a difference in the world through this program. I am very passionate about creating change and helping others. I was part of Engineering Brightness which was a club that fought against light poverty in third world countries by building and shipping lanterns to them. I care a lot about the environment and the challenges we face globally. I want to help be part of the solution to climate change and I think that everyone can contribute with the right resources. I am also very culturally aware of the issues and injustices others face in their daily lives. This community will provide me the opportunity to pursue my goals of helping people and teach me the skills necessary to succeed in the future. I will grow as an engineer with the skills that I learn and I will grow as a person with the relationships and experiences I will have in this community. I will personally contribute to the community through my hard work and dedication. Also, my time management, organization, and experience in communication will help the community to grow and succeed in the future. My unique perspectives and ideas will help the community to find creative solutions to global challenges.
