When I went to Mexico I had the greatest time of my life. I visited sacred places, restaurants , and many other places that are special to the Mexican community. I learned many things about Mexico’s past and the many downfalls they’ve had but they used their skills to rebuild. Many of Mexico’s engineering methods are fairly different compared to our country’s methods but that’s what makes it just as special.

One more important travel when I went to visit is New York City. Although it is within the US, it taught me many things about different methods that adapt to its environment. I went to the Hudson Yards Edge tower to at first only expect to see the view at the top but to my surprise, I got to learn a lot more about the tower than what meets the eye. The learning experience taught me how New York City's drainage system works and how they manage to conserve water. This shows that human kind in general uses different methods to adapt to the kind of environment they have.
Luckily I’m open to anyone that would live across from me since I myself am a diverse person. I definitely would love someone who cares and sparks interest in what’s going on in the world, so that way we may have sophisticated deep conversations. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with what is going on in the world so having someone to talk to will keep me updated. Not only that but learning about people from different backgrounds gives me a different perspective of the world. I also want someone who not only does their part by bringing up their methods of global engineering knowledge but someone who is caring and understanding in general. Someone who has these characteristics makes it not only easier to talk to, but it also welcomes new ideas and takes them into genuine consideration.

I want to be a part of the Global Engineering RAP at CU Boulder because of its diversity and its call for the necessity of knowledge from around the world. Different perspectives call for a variety of approaches on to global or local issues. The community at Boulder, especially the close community in the engineering field, will contribute to my training due to the fact many of us are taking the same steps but with different approaches. Our different backgrounds are all met at Boulder which gives us the opportunity to learn from each other. The same goes for how this community will benefit me as a person. I get the benefit of being more aware of the world around me in the engineering context and as well-knowledged person. I plan to contribute by doing my part of sharing the knowledge and methods i have gained from my background and experiences. As someone who is out of state and part of a minority group it is crucial to raise awareness on what we can offer.
