While I do not have any study abroad or travel experience that directly relates to the Global Engineering RAP, I am an openminded, progress driven individual who strives to provide what I can to my community. My actions and goals are built around the focus of what I can do to better the lives of those more vulnerable than myself, and I am constantly advocating for those positive changes.
I would want to live with someone who has similar moral guides as myself, but whom has a different approach to action. Someone who is wildly creative and challenging, to match with my introverted and quiet nature. I believe that kind of balance will best compliment my own energy and we can become quite the team.
The primary reason that I would like to join the Global Engineering RAP is to provide a new side and knowledge toward my life goals and the reasoning behind my becoming an engineer. I want to be able to make an impact and see first hand the fruits of my labor, and the "reasons worth fighting for". I find humbling experiences to be the most effective in grounding ones self and in fueling the fire for which one is driven to succeed. My desire in life is to provide compassion, understanding, and positive change to those around me, and I believe that by having my boots on the ground, I will have the first hand experience I need to be the most well rounded engineer that I can be. By having this experience, I can directly apply what I learn and experience with the Global Engineering RAP to my Environmental Engineering studies and to my ultimate goal of providing clean, free drinking water and sanitation systems to the populations that most need it.
