I have traveled to Spain, France, and Mexico. During these travels, I was exposed to different cultures and lifestyles, which made me more accepting of others and easier for me to adapt. During my travels, I learned that many of the "little things" are different than here in the US. For example, some countries will not serve water unless you ask. Or how the homeless are supported even less in foreign countries than they are here. Based on these experiences, I am prepared for the Global Engineering RAP and am more than willing to learn about other cultures and how engineering will help prepare me for my future endeavors.
Ideally, the person living down the hall from me would be energetic and friendly. They would enjoy spending time with others, meeting new people, and having fun, but they would also honor their academic responsibility. This would mean that they are quieter at night as to not keep the other residents up too late.
The Global Engineering RAP will help me to become a better person and a better engineer. The RAP will help me elevate my professional skills by applying what I learn to make a positive impact toward fixing global issues. My hope is that I can make a good impact as an engineer by thinking critically and finding solutions that can be applied to making the world a better place.
As a potential resident of the community, I would like to make positive relationships with the other residents and contribute helpful knowledge to aid others.
