I haven't had many chances to travel abroad, which is one of the reasons I'm interested in the Global Engineering RAP. It sounds like a great way to learn about the struggles a lot of the world is dealing with and how I can use the knowledge and skills I'm gaining from my education to help better the world.
I would want someone with different experiences from me, who is open-minded and takes an active role in their education. I am someone who loves learning about other cultures and communities as well as my academic interests, and I have found I get along well with others who share that love of learning even if their interests are very different from mine.
I would like to be a member of the Global Engineering RAP because it would help me find ways to apply my education to help serve a greater purpose. People tend to think of aerospace engineering as just building rockets, but it's a very versatile field with a lot of applications and has contributed to some amazing technological advancements that have improved a lot of people's lives.
I think this community will contribute to my education because it's not just about meeting minimum requirements and getting the right answers on tests, it's about finding ways to improve the lives of others by using the education I have the privilege to receive.
As a child of a single working mother, I have learned a lot of life skills that others my age might not have such as cooking, baking, sewing, etc. I have always looked for ways to use these skills to better my community through activities such as volunteer work and would love to do that in this community as well.
