Throughout my life so far, I have had the honor and opportunity to travel and experience a lot of different cultures and walks of life all around the world ever since I was a little kid, which has helped me to get to where I am today as a person. Each and every experience has caused me to be humbled and understanding of everyone I meet, which has allowed me to work through and understand a lot of different situations on a deeper level and be a valuable asset to any team. But when I Look back, one experience comes to my mind that has allowed me to truly be who I am today through valuable lessons and values. For instance, when I went to the Czech Republic in the fall of 2011 one memory, I still hold with me. We were staying at this family-owned Inn in the countryside outside of Prague where I met this little girl not much older than me at the time. I remember she would treat me like her little brother and whenever we would come back from an outing, she would always make sure I had a fun time seeing all the sights of her country along with that she would give me little lessons in Czech. She would also let me help her and her mother around the inn where they would teach me the values, I bring to everything I do. Such as friendliness & Modesty, I remember she would tell me to always step up and help others no matter who they were when someone new would come into the inn and ask for a room or food, along with that to treat them like family. She and her mom also heavily valued modesty which to this day I hold to a high degree when judging a situation because it can be really important in the outcome of a lot of different situations, it also grounds you emotionally to where you can make grounded decisions and formulate a response to any problem at hand. These two values personally I believe have prepared me for the Global Engineering RAP, because of their practical application in the classroom with lifting others up to be the best they can be and out in the real world helping to solve the many problems others face.
Global experiences and perspectives significantly improve along with enhancing the field of engineering by introducing a diverse set of ideas, approaches, and values. Which also enables engineers to foster collaborations among engineers from many different backgrounds. This can improve networking which can lead to lifelong partnerships and the spreading of ideas to better the lives of everyday people no matter where they might be deifying all sorts of borders and leading to meaningful and most importantly impactful engineering projects. This all comes back to the experiences I've gained which is added to how I treat different situations, because with each time you leave your home country, you get to see how others live and what they truly value as people which never leaves you. It also leaves you wanting to learn more and be a better version of yourself and incorporate some of their values with you to any form or degree. The experience I had and still cherish to this day is no different, it has helped and guided me to want to help others through biomedical engineering and its many medical applications.
I want to be a member of the Global Engineering RAP at CU Boulder because I wish to help and dedicate myself to tackling the world's many challenges in the medical field. Along with pushing and pursuing for safer and better-quality world health which my major provides. I also wish to learn more than just the engineering technical skills, I want my work and education to have a more connected meaning in helping others no matter where they come from, I want to be able to deify borders and make people's lives better, if only just a little bit. I believe this community and its members will help me reach those goals and help me beyond just training me as an engineer. I plan on bringing to the residential community my unwavering determination and commitment to my studies along with helping others and pushing them to be the best they can be, along with my devotion to community.
