Throughout my short life, I have had the opportunity to open my perspective of the world, to see beyond my own city and my own country; I have had unique travel experiences that have changed me, built me as a person and made a suitable candidate for Global Engineering RAP.

I must start mentioning that I come from a border city with the US: I have the possibility of crossing the border and finding myself in two different countries on the same day. This has given me a sense of gratitude and understanding that differences in culture and tradition are to be shared.
I have had the opportunity to visit not only the USA and Mexico, but 11 other countries in America, Europe and Asia (i.e Turkey, Italy, Gutemala, Canada, Switzerland). I have had the pleasure of traveling across continents with my parents, which has certainly changed my life. Once you discover the world out there, you can never be the same again. Seeing different lifestyles, different traditions, different cultures has given me different ways of looking at life, and has made me decide to dedicate myself to something bigger than myself.
To finish with my travel experiences, I recently had the opportunity in the summers of 2024 and 2023 to take English courses in Canada, in Vancouver the first time, and in Montreal the second time. "Living” for weeks in that country not only allowed me to expand my English language skills, but also allowed me to be part of an international community, I was able to live, talk and share with people from all over the world. This experience taught me how important it is to have an open mind and a global and contributive approach.

Being an international student and the travel opportunities I have had, have given me the skills that the Global Engineering Residential Academic Program is looking for.
I love airplanes. I also love to travel, what I like the most. And these two tastes are closely related, I can't help but relate the two; when I think of getting from one part of the world to another I think of airplanes, and when I think of airplanes I think of the world.
It is just a small example that progress and development is achieved as a team and not alone, just as the Wright Brothers shared their work on airplanes and allowed it to progress, now the world is connected and we can get from one part of the world to another in a matter of hours, thanks to passionate people who allowed collaboration to happen.

It is no surprise to see that engineering projects around the world, like at NASA, Space X the ISS, often involve multinational teams. Understanding different work cultures and
communication styles enhances collaboration, reducing misunderstandings and improving efficiency in complex projects. I believe exposure to different cultures, educational systems, and problem-solving approaches fosters creativity and innovation. Engineers from diverse backgrounds bring unique perspectives that lead to more effective and unconventional solutions as we have seen throughout the history of technology.
I am someone who values community, a place to call home, as well as teamwork, and I am certain that CU Boulder is a place where I will find determined and passionate students. The Global Engineering RAP program not only combines community and teamwork but provides a special place to find talented engineers willing to contribute: I will be able to join projects with students from different areas to create projects together with ambitious goals, to change lives, or just for fun.

Being part of the program will allow me to go beyond a simple classroom and acquire more than technical skills. I will have the opportunity to live new experiences while enjoying with colleagues and contributing to the world. The opportunity to get out of my comfort zone to help others is the most important thing.
I would like to accept all the opportunities that Mortenson Center in Global Engineering & Resilience offers, and I would love to contribute with hands ready to work and a mind with ideas to collaborate, I would like to bring my perspective, support and motivation to this great community.
