A travel experience that has prepared me for RAP would be when I was growing up I would travel to Mexico to visit family but I always took the opportunity to help my community in Mexico that I once grew up in by helping those in need. More specifically I would help out my community by providing my skills to help build certain designs that will help them. My uncle is in charge of a civil engineering company in Pineda and I would use leftover materials such as wood and use the machines to build food stands, tables, and even roofs for locals around my community. This experience has helped me greatly in valuing work and helping others which I believe will prepare me significantly for the Global Engineering RAP.
The person I would want to live down the hall from me is someone who is passionate about something in their life which doesn’t necessarily mean it has to do something with their education just any passion, open mindedness, and overall just kind.
I want to be a member of the Global Engineering RAP because I truly just want to help people just like I did In Mexico but on a broader scale working alongside others with the same compassion. I think this community will greatly contribute to my training as an engineer by physically putting me in front of the issues at hand, which is an experience I simply can’t get through a simulation on a computer. As a person, how I plan to personally contribute to the residential community is by making it a better space, reaching out, checking in on others, and connecting with everyone there so we can become a very close knit community.
