In summer 2021, I had the opportunity to travel to northwestern Washington and spent a large majority of that trip exploring the outdoors. I went on numerous hikes, boat rides, and nature walks that further developed my passion for being outdoors and doing everything I can to help save and preserve the environment. In addition to the Pacific Northwest, I have also recently had the pleasure of spending 5 days in New York City. While very different from the nature focused PNW, I traveled the city with a small, close-knit group of friends and was able to appreciate every bit of it. For me, traveling largely develops my appreciation for culture and how beautiful nature is. Whether it is a remote wilderness hike, or a walk through a large metroploitan area, my travel experiences have shaped my view on how big of an impact I can make on the world.
I would want to live down the hall from someone with similar interests and values to me. Someone who cares about helping others, someone who puts others ahead of themselves, and someone who has a passion about the environment. It is deeply important to me to surround myself with others who will look after each other and have eachothers backs. I want to live with others who are agreeable, kind people, and who want to make the world a better place.
I want to be a member of the Global Engineering RAP so I can go into college with likeminded people and have a community established before I even start classes. It would be incredibly beneficial to be surrounded by such a close knit group of people who are pursuing the same education and outcome that I am. If I am selected to become a member I will be there as someone to get others involved, a shoulder to lean on, and someone to boost others up. I care about impacting the planet and would absolutely love to have a team to do that with.
