Although I have never traveled abroad, I plan on traveling abroad soon, going to places such as Japan and Australia in the upcoming years. I've always wanted to travel overseas but have never gotten the opportunity to as of yet due to school, family, and other factors. Since I do not technically have any places I've visited abroad, I cannot say that any have prepared me for the Global Engineering RAP. Still, I can say that I'm very excited to eventually travel to new countries and discover new cultures, environments, and more. I plan to study overseas eventually within my college career; this will bring me a great new perspective on learning how the country I visit works, progresses, cultural norms, etc. I cannot wait for my ongoing years and am excited to venture out into new environments and see new things. I want to learn and figure out other parts of the world and what they offer. For example, I've heard many things from past college students about studying in Australia and the many new experiences, friends, and learnings they've made, setting up one significantly better for life's ongoing adventures and bringing their new knowledge into their careers. I would be very proud to be a part of this RAP and the many experiences that come along with it as well as its collective community.
The type of person I would want to live down the hall from is someone who would have the same common interests as me, helping the community and striving for a better environment around us and others. I seek for us to create an upbeat and all-around healthy association where I and others feel most comfortable. I want to be there for my peers and also be able to go to my peers if needed, an environment in which I can support others and help others. Something where I truly feel connected, which I know this RAP can do for me. After everything I've heard about this specific Global and Engineering RAP, I genuinely believe this is what I want in my college experience and community.
I really like the idea of a community working together and staying together to create bonds and provide for a better future for not only us but others. I've heard a lot about this program through past students, how amazing it is, and the lifelong bonds that also come with it. Although I am using my engineering degree, Creative Technology and Design, and building it into a pre-med degree, I can say that I know this path will help me and contribute to my progression as a student and my learning as it helps me create bonds and stronger paths. Suppose I do not continue onto my medical degree path and continue more in engineering. In that case, I think this community will help me succeed as well. I believe I could go more in-depth on my work in helping others and creating things that would make an impact on the world striving for less poverty such as web pages, to be specific websites that every culture can understand and also make sure it is readily available for any disabled members. I want everyone to have access to websites and apps around the world. While If I continued a more pre-med route, I would seek out helping others and making it so those in poverty can get the medical treatment they need. I wish for a better environment and want to impact this world and change for the better.
