I grew up abroad with humanitarian parents. Through my parents’ jobs, I was exposed to the world of humanitarian aid and global assistance. My parents were both active in humanitarian disaster management roles and worked worldwide. I grew up living in four different countries, meeting wonderful people, learning invaluable lessons, and traveling. Due to this upbringing, I have always been motivated to work internationally, learn, and contribute to the global community.
The last five years have been spent living in Oahu Hawaii, after living in Bangkok Thailand for four years Amman Jordan for three years, Bangkok Thailand for four years, and Iloilo Philippines for a year. Within these places, I have been given the ultimate way to learn; through immersion. In the RAP program, I hope to continue to learn and meet new people and also share what I have learned.

As I walk outside my dorm every morning, I hope to meet neighbors who are not only passionate hard-working engineers but also individuals. At RAP, I hope to surround myself with people who are striving to make a difference and innovate for positive change in a variety of different ways. A neighbor who understands how engineering and technology can be used in great ways in our society. My dream would be to meet a future coworker, to help support an amazing engineering initiative. Furthermore, I would love to live and interact with people with a variety of engineering interests and backgrounds, as a way to constantly be exposed to knowledge, thoughts, and opinions. Dorm-mates who are willing to help and collaborate on tricky problem sets or to peer edit essays.
Whether on my sporadically scheduled road trips, hikes, or rock-climbing outings, I hope to meet adventurous and fun individuals. To have funny neighbors who will make me laugh and keep up banter. People who are willing to engage with my card game obsessions.
I would love to work in the humanitarian aid sector. As a child of humanitarian parents who grew up in an international environment, I am passionate about some international aid projects. I would love to work on the planning and logistics of disaster relief initiatives alongside the affected community.
By working with organizations like Peace Corps or RedR, I can connect this interest in humanitarian aid with international aid engineering projects.

I strongly believe that the Global Engineering RAP at Boulder would allow me to strive academically and socially within the campus. At a bigger university, I would love the opportunity to form meaningful relationships with a like-minded community. I would be able to meet people who are not only passionate about engineering but also hardworking and ambitious. Students who have a variety of interests and backgrounds, even outside of engineering and STEM.
I am particularly passionate about the intersection of global humanities and engineering, and RAP will provide me with a venue for exploring this interest. I hope to join the Peace Corps after graduation and believe that the RAP program will setup me up with the resources and connections to do so.
Being in Williams with many engineering students would allow me to form study groups and peer tutor with ease. To be able to get to know my peers outside of a classroom through the dorm and RAP activities. Together with like-minded peers and mentors, I look forward to learning languages alongside the normal engineering curriculum!
