"Mechanisms of cannabidiol and sleep in the context of alcohol use"

Calm Study

Reason for the Study: Poor sleep can have wide ranging negative effects on health and mood including in the context of alcohol use, and recent research indicates that CBD could improve sleep . Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate whether CBD could be a viable intervention for poor sleep as measured by at home sleep testing, daily use of an activity monitoring watch, and self report.

What you will do: This study involves 3 in-person appointments and 2 telehealth appointments over the course of four weeks. During the study, you will wear an activity monitor on your wrist, use a CBD product, participate in surveys and interviews, and have blood collection at the first and final visit.

Who can be in the study: You must be at least 21 years old, drink alcohol at least monthly, and have disrupted or poor quality sleep or not get enough sleep.
