25 CINES/seg is an experimental documentary by Spanish filmmaker Luis Macías that explores the intersection of creative conflict and cultural loss. While attempting to film a documentary about abandoned cinemas, the director and producer become embroiled in a clash of interests, halting production. Despite this setback, the demolition of the cinema continues as planned—yet the documentary is still brought to life. Through a series of fragmented scenes and unconventional narrative techniques, 25 CINES/seg captures the tension between artistic intent and external forces, questioning the relationship between memory, decay, and the process of filmmaking itself. This bold work reflects on the struggle to preserve history, even as it fades away before our eyes.
