The two second grade lessons are based on the Spanish poem, Me llamo Gabriela: La vida de Gabriela Mistral by Monica Brown and the English text, Just a Minute: A Trickster Tale and Counting Book, by Yuyi Morales. For each of these lessons, we recommend using a shortened, modified text for the repeated readings after reading the entire text once as a read aloud on or before the first lesson day. Under both books, you will find the adapted text, the lesson plan, and vocabulary resources.
